What we do

How OVOH works: connection, collaboration, and real change

Providing a safe and supportive space to share solutions

The aims of One Voice, One Hope are to provide:

  • A safe and supportive space, enabling your voice to be heard.

  • An environment, rooted in principles that matter: Respect, Humility, Trust, Compassion and Determination.

  • Themed Collaborative Action Groups (CAGs) - focused and action- centred groups, bringing together those who are willing to share experience, resources and insight.

  • The “Good Practices Hub” - a unique, national, online resource, accessible to all 4 nations of the UK, providing examples of good practice or emerging good practice in suicide prevention, intervention and postvention.

  • A Network - physical and online, events, meet ups, conferences and an online community space.

Network

The vision for One Voice, One Hope is bold but simple: to ignite a movement that will help bring down the number of lives lost to suicide in the UK — not just in small ways, but in a way that truly shifts the tide.

One Voice, One Hope envisions a growing, inter-connected network of charities, grassroots groups, third sector organisations - big and small, NHS services, local and national government/councils, education settings, workplaces, community groups and other stakeholders who are all united in helping prevent the possibility of future deaths by suicide by those who feel defeated, humiliated, trapped and hopeless.

Whatever challenges people are facing, if your vocation or job touches lives which could be affected by suicide, there’s a place for you here.

We want this to be a safe and supportive space where organisations and individuals can connect, collaborate, and feel part of something bigger. It’s a space to exchange knowledge, learn from each other, and grow — both personally and professionally — while contributing to a shared mission.

Collaborative Action Groups

Focused, themed groups that bring stakeholders together to share experience, resources and insight, with the aim of identifying and developing examples of good practice and emerging good practice and effective approaches to suicide prevention, intervention and postvention.

The aim of a Collaborative Action Group is to bring the right people together around a clear theme and agree on a specific focus. This focus may be strategic, such as a campaign or the group may dedicate its focus to a specific project. Strategic Groups will often break down into any number of project groups (sub-groups), whilst feeding back their experiences to the main Collaborative Action Group, which in turn informs the One Voice, One Hope core team.

Collaborative Action Groups operate for the benefit of One Voice, One Hope and its mission but equally, members should derive benefit from their participation. By participating, members should feel they are adding value to their own or their organisation’s personal vision and mission.

CAGs create the conditions where voices can be heard and CAGS can be created by anyone who is passionate about preventing suicides around a central theme. OVOH provides the framework to support the creation and development of CAGs.

IIf you believe more needs to be done in a particular area of suicide prevcention, we would like to support you. Please get in touch at [email protected] and tell us:

1. What is the theme you're passionate about?

2. What change do you believe needs to happen?

3. Do you have some time and capacity to establish a Collaborative Action Group?

Good Practices Hub

Coming soon, The Hub will showcase examples of emerging and existing good practices in suicide prevention, postvention and intervention. It will be a searchable platform available to those already operating in the suicide prevention space and for those new to this space.

Examples of good practice are identified and submitted through Collaborative Action Groups (CAGs) with clear guidance on what constitutes ‘Good Practice’ as defined by OVOH. A protocol is currently being designed.

We are delighted to announce that our collaborative partners for this project are Global Equality Network (GEC). GEC will be our platform developers. Our collective aim is to have a live version of the Hub ready for September 10th: World Suicide Prevention Day 2026.

We are conscious that there may be levels of commercial sensitivity or restrictions around sharing certain information and resources. However, we strongly believe that if it is saving lives, then others need to be aware. A willingness to share in a collaborative way, is a core attribute of being a member of the One Voice, One Hope network.

Connection Cafes

Connection Cafes are coming to One Voice One Hope during Summer 2026

Are you a suicide prevention advocate? Does your role within a charity or an organisation frequently expose you to difficult and sometimes challenging information and topics?

Connection Cafes will be an important aspect of OVOH, recognising that most people involved in suicide prevention do not receive any professional supervision or peer-led support.

Connection cafes are regularly scheduled online drop-in sessions for OVOH members-an informal space to connect with other members working in suicide prevention.

Members will be able to connect, share and support each each other. We want this to be a safe space for those who may be feeling isolated geographically or due to the time they spend working alone.

Connection Cafes will provide a space to meet and share with others who may have similar lived-experiences who would like someone to listen without jjudgement.

More information coming soon.

When everyone connects, no one falls through the cracks
